The issue of racism is well and truly back in the news following recent events - the Stephen Lawrence trial, the murder of Anuj Bidve, an Indian student in Salford, the ‘My Tram Experience’ YouTube clip, the Suffolk ‘gollywog in the window’ case, the Diane Abbott ‘divide and rule’ tweet, and, of course, a whole series of football related incidents, which have blown-up to a level that few could have envisaged when I made my ‘Racism In English Football’ post just a few months ago, at the end of October

Living To Music Update – Nov 2010

Living To Music continues to inspire insightful comment, the most recent session being ‘Hounds Of Love’ by Kate Bush. Next up it’s a return to the daisy age with De La Soul’s Hip Hop classic ‘3 Feet High And Rising’, which provided a key element of the soundtrack to 1989’s ‘Second Summer Of Love’. The session, as ever, will take place on the first Sunday of the month, in this case December 5th, at 9pm. With the next Living To Music selection being ‘Hounds Of Love’ by Kate Bush, thought it might be timely to link to a few of her videos. It’s a shame, and somewhat surprising, that there’s never been a DVD compilation of her promo videos made available (apart from bootlegs) to update ‘The Whole Story’ compilation issued on VHS back in 1986. But never fear, thankfully they’re instantly accessible via the wonderful resource that is YouTube – here are four singles from her four 1980’s albums.
